Despicable Me 2
Random egalitarian passing through, don't mind me
Oh my god if you’re going to judge someone’s cosplay you better learn your fucking shit because this is Duela Dent you goddamn assholes.
Perpetually laughing over the fact that “real gamer/comic book nerd” males keep insulting women for cosplaying things they’ve never even heard of
who’s the “fake geek” now, fuckers?
It was lame to say that about her, but is there actually any proof that it was a guy that said it? ‘Cause I’m not seeing any here.
When I meet girls who aren’t feminists, I want to know what happened in their lives to make them believe they don’t deserve equal rights as men.

Let this be a lesson to every teen, according to Serena Williams if you get drunk and raped, its partially YOUR fault for putting yourself into that position.
VIA Daily Mail :
Serena Williams has sparked an intense backlash after she suggested the 16-year-old victim in the Steubenville, Ohio,…
READ THE FULL STORY HERE : http://www.jookos.com/2013/06/19/idiot-serena-williams-claims-16yr-old-rape-victim-is-to-partially-to-blame-for-getting-drunk/
Let this be a lesson to all teens don’t worry about being responsible for your own well being an body because after we teach all the men not to rape you can get shift-faced and walk nude and take no precautions whatsoever. In fact irresponsibility all around because society will coddle you into a state of learned helplessness where you’ll have to rely solely on adults for the rest of your lives to save you from the world.
So, by that logic, a person who got drunk, got behind the wheel of a car, and got into an accident in which another person got killed cannot and should not be held accountable for their own choice to get wasted?
Oddly enough, my mother went out driving while three times over the limit, she crashed into a bollard of a petrol station. Got banned for two years and one year probation and tried to blame the person who asked her to go to the shop. She may be anti-feminist but she’s feminism personified.
Also, when will these people learn the difference between fault and responsibility.
What Serena said seems perfectly reasonable. If you get shitfaced drunk, you’re putting your life into other people’s hands, and if there’s nobody around you can trust then you’re willingly putting yourself into strangers’ hands, which leaves you wide open to be victimized.
Of course the girl didn’t deserve what happened, and the guys that did it fully deserve to have the book thoroughly thrown at them, but that doesn’t take away the fact that she could’ve potentially prevented it by behaving more responsibly. This is an excellent opportunity to teach other young people exactly what not to do if they want to avoid being victimized.
And, like Serena said, this obviously doesn’t apply if her drink was spiked. That being said, there’s still something to learn from this. Never accept drinks from people you can’t trust, and never leave your drink unattended.

Anonymous asked: youre determined to still frame it as a gender neutral issue when its clear female idols are clearly pressured more? litl put it this way, you have a guy hit by a car and bleeding to death and a guy w/ a papercut. who do you tend to first? and she proved how in korea femininity, not just ppl stepping out of gender roles, was slammed.
I know I said I’d stop responding to this stuff, but that comparison really is just too much lol
It’s hardly the difference between a paper cut and a fatal car accident; it’s much more like the difference between a cut that needs disinfecting and a bandage and you’re good to go vs a cut that needs a couple stitches to heal properly. Both need tending to, though one is clearly more severe than the other and thus may require a bit closer care. If you ignore the first person’s cut in favor of the second’s, it could get infected and potentially kill them. Same with if you ignore the second person’s cut in favor of the first’s, though with an increased risk. It’s undeniable that both need tending, even if one is worse, therefor it can’t be called a “first person’s issue” or a “second person’s issue”. It’s just a “cut issue” that happens to affect the second person more severely.
Casting appreciation gif.
This seriously pisses me off because TWO men of the “correct” ethnicity/race were asked to play the role of Khan. I don’t remember their names because this back when Into Darkness was in casting yo but they BOTH DECLINED.
So there’s a HUGE difference between “well, we asked the best in the business and they both said no, so we should go with another actor of the ‘incorrect’ race who is also very well suited for the role” and doing what the Hunger Games did which is literally only let white girls audition for Katniss.
When actors decline there is fuckall you can do. It’s shitty, no doubt, that Khan ended up being white, but BC did a great job in the role, while knowing he was third choice. I won’t begrudge him for taking it, and I won’t begrudge the casting crew for going with him after their best actors declined.
just adding my opinion (lord knows its a dangerous thing to do)
In JJ Abrams’ universe, Khan believes he is the “superior species,” and then goes on to be defeated by the “inferior species.” He was condemned a war criminal for committing genocide against those he believed inferior. NOW WHO DOES THAT SOUND LIKE.
Oh, yeah, all white men throughout history ever.
Basically all of white men’s history is made up of white men asserting their dominance and killing/enslaving the “inferior.”
Do I think Khan should have been cast as a POC? YES. Am I overly angry that Benedict was ultimately cast as Khan? NOT REALLY.
JJ’s Khan was meant to be an egotistical asshat… and he was represented by a white man. Who can find fault with that?
Are you even trying? Like seriously, every white person in history was evil and every not white person was a pure little angel? Do you not even see the problem with that kind of thinking?
At the very least you are erasing practically the entire history of many cultures (both white and other) in one fell swoop, and replacing them with your own personal opinion of what history should’ve been.
Also FYI, the original Khan was a tan white guy. Nationality ≠ ethnicity. Being Mexican doesn’t automatically make you hispanic. It’s no secret that both of his parents were Spanish, and Spain is in Europe, ergo: white. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since you’re so quick to overwrite other parts of history though.
People were really angry when Rihanna got beat up by Chris (and rightfully so), but now she hits a fan with a microphone and it’s oh-so-funny and everybody’s making up excuses and saying it was the fan’s fault?
Like, do you even hear yourselves?
I’m gonna go ahead and stop responding to those people. Maybe just for today, maybe forever. I know it’ll cause them to think they’ve “won” (because apparently victimization is a competition to them, and facts are the casualties of war), but I really don’t even care. You’re worthless if you can’t practice what you preach, and I always say that you shouldn’t deliberately put yourself into situations that you know will stress you out.
